While all the brokers below accept Indian traders are not one of the 90+ overseas brokers listed on the central bank’s Alert List, most do not hold a license from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) or the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Their overseas licenses do not provide the same level of local protection. If you want a broker fully regulated in India, our top pick is Interactive Brokers.

Broker Popularity
Indian traders often look for established brokers - here's how many clients our top brokers have in India and globally:
Why Trade With RoboForex?
RoboForex offers a broad selection of over 12,000 trading markets along with ECN accounts, impressive charting, and loyalty incentives. It is also advantageous for stock traders due to its intuitive R StocksTrader platform, which provides access to over 3,000 shares, lower fees starting at $0.01, and advanced watchlists.
Pros
- The broker provides two free withdrawals each month in the Free Funds Withdrawal program, assisting traders in reducing transaction expenses.
- RoboForex offers more than 12,000 instruments for trading. This includes forex, stocks, indices, ETFs, commodities, and futures. Comparatively, this surpasses the trading opportunities available from most online brokers.
- RoboForex won the 'Best Forex Broker 2025' award from DayTrading.com for expanding their FX services, reducing spreads, and increasing availability in multiple countries.
Cons
- RoboForex provides fair spreads, but some of its account types have high trading commissions up to $20 per lot, which are more expensive compared to more affordable brokers like IC Markets.
- RoboForex now only allows USD and EUR as base currencies. This could lead to conversion fees and inconvenience for traders who prefer managing their accounts in other currencies.
- RoboForex offers many account types which, although flexible, can be daunting for new traders to select the most appropriate for their trading preferences. Other platforms like eToro simplify the process with a single retail account option.
Why Trade With Trade Nation?
Trade Nation is suitable for discretionary traders interested in speculating on major indices like the US 500 or liquid FX pairs, with the predictability of fixed spreads. Our tests showed the fixed-spread TN Trader platform is beneficial for trading during scheduled economic releases due to its reliable charting and capped spreads.
Pros
- The broker expanded into Europe with regulated online trading services after getting approval from Portugal's CVMV, enhancing safety protections for European users.
- Trade Nation's 2026 partnership with Volt has accelerated payments for Australian traders. They can now make instant deposits and withdrawals using PayID. Faster payout features are planned for clients in the UK and EU.
- Trade Nation accounts can now connect with TradingView, enabling advanced multi-charts and direct trade execution.
Cons
- Offshore SCB and FSA entities offer retail clients leverage up to 1:200 and 1:500, compared to 1:30 in the UK, Europe, and Australia. This means FSA clients can have 16 times the exposure of UK retail clients on the same trade, but with less oversight and no compensation scheme.
- There is no raw or ECN pricing, which many traders prefer. Regardless of your deposit or trading volume, you will use the same fixed (or variable on MT4) pricing as beginners, making it unsuitable for scalpers.
- The 2–20% rebate program is not available to FCA, CMVM, and ASIC clients, so active traders in these areas cannot receive transaction rebates.
Why Trade With FXCC?
FXCC is an excellent choice for traders, offering over 70 currency pairs, ultra-tight spreads from 0.0 pips during testing, and a free VPS for eligible traders.
Pros
- Customer support still depends on human agents, providing live chat response times of under three minutes in our tests, with knowledgeable representatives. This is a welcome change from the often frustrating AI chatbots now common among brokers.
- FXCC's ECN XL account is designed for active traders, offering spreads from 0.0 without commission and meeting our execution speed standards.
- FXCC has expanded its services by including MT5 in its platforms, adding hundreds of stocks and more cryptocurrencies, as well as introducing copy trading and more margin trading options.
Cons
- Despite improvements to the economic calendar, FXCC provides limited market research, offering only basic daily technical analysis and aggregated news. It lacks tools such as Autochartist and social sentiment data.
- FXCC has expanded to include US, European, and Asian stocks, but offers limited metals and energy options, and no soft commodities.
- FXCC's offshore entity, though regulated by CySEC, operates under limited oversight from MISA and may not offer protections such as investor compensation if the broker becomes insolvent.
Why Trade With Ultima Markets?
Ultima Markets is ideal for beginners wanting to trade popular financial markets using the reliable MetaTrader 4 or the newer MetaTrader 5 platform. The minimum deposit is just $50, and there are no fees to open and fund your account. The Academy provides a supportive learning environment.
Pros
- Enjoy no-charge deposits and withdrawals in a variety of base currencies for trading.
- The Standard account requires a minimum deposit of $50 for trading.
- Education at the Academy now includes over 1,100 articles.
Cons
- Sign-up process is slower than competitors.
- Minimum deposit of $20,000 required for optimal trading conditions.
- Limited regulation of offshore trading branches.
Why Trade With Bullwaves?
Bullwaves may attract new traders interested in MetaTrader chart platforms with expanding research tools, including AI market analysis. However, its short history and lack of strong regulation cast doubt on its reliability.
Pros
- MT5 is supported (MT4 is discontinued), providing traders with a top charting platform and strong backtesting features.
- Certain accounts (Classic and VIP) provide commission-free trading, allowing users to trade without extra costs apart from the spread.
- Bullwaves now offers copy trading, enabling users to mimic traders' actions across 900+ strategies with tight spreads starting at 0.01 pips.
Cons
- Bullwaves offers few educational tools, making it less appealing to beginners compared to leaders like IG, which provides structured courses and interactive features.
- Traders and scalpers may favor VIP or ECN accounts, but these need much higher initial deposits ($3,000 and $5,000) than many brokers with similar trading conditions and lower entry requirements.
- Bullwaves operates with limited regulation in key areas, holding a license only with the lower-tier Seychelles FSA, indicating a lack of oversight from recognized authorities to ensure adherence to strict financial standards.

Methodology For Selecting The Top Global Brokers In India
We followed several steps:
- Accepts residents in India: Brokers had to accept traders in India, something we confirmed by registering for an account from a Mumbai IP address, as you can see below, and/or checking that ‘India’ isn’t listed in brokers’ restricted countries.
- Hands-on tests: We recorded over 200 data points per broker, including the availability of INR-based trading accounts and access to the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). We used every broker’s platforms, apps, and trading tools to properly understand and evaluate the trading experience.
- Ranked brokers by their ratings: All the findings from step two were compiled and informed our overall ratings, by which brokers were ultimately ranked.

How To Choose The Right Broker As A Trader In India
All traders’ needs are different, so there’s no single best broker for every trader. However, there are several things you can weigh up when selecting an online trading provider:
Trust
We only recommend brokers we trust after running extensive background checks and analyzing wider community feedback. Here are key things you can look for:
- Age: The longer the broker has been operational, the more likely they are to be a well-regarded, trustworthy firm. We prefer brokerages with 5+ years of history. In contrast, scam brokers often only last for several weeks or months.
- User reviews: You have to be careful of reviews as they can be manipulated or even faked, but a large number of reviews, i.e. thousands, on multiple third-party platforms, can be a trust indicator.
- Stock exchange listing: Some brokers are listed on a public stock exchange, which ensures deep scrutiny of their financials, and can be a sign that the brokerage is large and well-capitalized.
- Banking license: Although rare, some brokers are also banks, which can bring heightened compliance and oversight and is often a reassuring sign that the broker is trustworthy.
Importantly, you must consider the broker’s regulatory credentials. For the most secure localized experience, consider brokers regulated in India. This will give you the strongest account safeguards. You can check whether a broker is regulated yourself using the database of Recognised Intermediaries.
However, not many brokerages are authorized by the SEBI, and there are dozens of overseas firms that accept Indian traders who feature on the RBI’s Alert List. Many of these are well-regarded brokerages regulated by ‘Category A’ bodies in our regulator bandings in other jurisdictions, but this does not make them authorized in India. It’s important every Indian resident understands this before opening e.g. an online CFD trading account with an offshore broker.
Market Access
Make sure the broker offers online trading in the assets and markets that you’re interested in. You may want a broker with access to the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Some traders also look for currency pairs that contain the Indian rupee (INR), such as USD/INR and EUR/INR. However, under the 1999 Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), Indian residents aren’t authorized to trade unsanctioned INR currency pairs.
Many online brokers also offer trading on US and global stock exchanges, ETFs, bonds, precious metals, soft commodities, and increasingly cryptocurrencies. These can be traded directly or often through derivatives like contracts for difference (CFDs), where leverage can be used to amplify results, though these are high-risk products designed for experienced traders with a large risk appetite.
Fees
Whatever you want to trade, it’s important to check both the trading and non-trading fees. You’ll likely pay a spread and/or commission on each trade. As an example, spreads can be as low as 0.0 pips on major currency pairs like EUR/USD, but that’s only in optimal market conditions, and INR currency pairs are generally less liquid and exhibit wider spreads. Commissions are typically around $7 per round lot turn.
Other key costs to check are inactivity fees if you don’t place a trade for months and currency conversion charges if dealing in assets denominated in a currency other than your base or making deposits and withdrawals. Brokers with INR trading accounts can be a solution for Indian traders here, helping to minimize conversion charges.
Tools
For active traders especially, it’s important to find a platform and/or app that you get on with. Look for a user-friendly interface and tools that can support trading decisions.
For example, if you’re trading Indian stocks, you may want analyst insights, dividend calculators, and sentiment data on whether other users are long or short on assets. You may also want an economic calendar that highlights upcoming announcements from the Reserve Bank of India, as you can see below.

IC Economic Calendar
Tip: A demo trading account is an excellent way to try a broker’s platform, app, and tools before risking real rupees.
Support
Indian residents, especially if using an overseas broker, should check that good quality support is available. Some top-rated brokers accepting forex traders nowadays offer websites in Indian languages (Hindi), while English-speaking support is generally available 24/5 and sometimes 24/7 on live chat, email, and telephone.
Support can be useful when using a new platform or trying to transfer money in and out of India.

FAQ
Who Regulates Trading Brokers In India?
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) is the main financial regulator that oversees online brokers and stock trading firms. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) oversees foreign exchange derivatives and cross-border transactions. Its rules apply when you send money to and from overseas trading brokers.
Do I Get Investor Compensation If I’m An Indian Resident And My Broker Goes Bankrupt?
If an Indian-regulated broker goes bankrupt, eligible retail clients may be compensated for uninvested cash through the stock exchange’s Investor Protection Fund (IPF), with up to ₹35 lakh per investor through the NSE and up to ₹25 lakh through the BSE and MXC. The Demat system should also ensure that securities you buy aren’t held by the broker directly but through depositories that you can then transfer to another brokerage.
However, these protections will not apply if you use an overseas broker. This is important to understand. Even if a brokerage is authorized by a regulator in another country like the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the UK, which has the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) providing up to £85,000 per eligible client, you will not be entitled to this if you’re an Indian resident.
