Pros

  • EagleFX provides high leverage up to 1:500 on forex trading, which benefits traders aiming for higher returns but also involves increased risk.
  • EagleFX requires just $10 to open an account, making it accessible for beginners or those starting trading with minimal risk.
  • EagleFX provides 24/7 support (without phone service) that performed effectively in testing, along with over 30 cryptocurrencies, making it suitable for traders in volatile crypto markets.
  • EagleFX provides an unlimited MT4 demo account and no inactivity fees, appealing to traders looking for a risk-free setting to develop trading strategies.
  • EagleFX now offers Bitcoin deposits and faster withdrawals, processed in under 30 minutes, much quicker than most brokers we've reviewed.

Cons

  • EagleFX offers only MetaTrader 4 (MT4) and does not support other popular platforms like MetaTrader 5 (MT5), cTrader, or TradingView, limiting options for traders with specific preferences.
  • The EagleFX platform offers over 170 instruments, which may be limiting for advanced traders, especially when compared to leading platforms like Blackbull that provide over 26,000 tradable assets.
  • EagleFX must improve its education resources, as it currently offers only very basic guides and hasn't added any learning articles since 2022. The situation is further exacerbated by the lack of market insights from analysts.
  • EagleFX is not regulated by any major financial authority, which may leave traders without protections like compensation plans in case of disputes or insolvency.

Regulation & Trust

Rating: 2.0

EagleFX launched in 2019 and is operated by EagleFX Ltd, a company based in Dominica.

Since Dominica doesn’t regulate trading, EagleFX runs without any oversight from a recognized financial authority. That means if the company were to go under, your funds likely wouldn’t have any protection.

It’s a reminder to be cautious and conduct thorough research before trading with the company.

Accounts & Banking

Live Accounts

EagleFX offers just one standard account, which only requires a $10 minimum deposit—pretty accessible if you’re starting out.

The leverage is pretty generous too: up to 1:500 for forex and metals, 1:200 for indices and energies, 1:100 for cryptocurrencies, and 1:20 for stocks.

It also offers both traditional accounts and Islamic accounts (swap-free), which is great if you need something that aligns with Sharia law. Instead of overnight interest, the Islamic account charges administrative fees.

That said, if you’re like me and looking for more advanced features, you might find professional or RAW accounts more appealing.

A professional account could be a better fit for high-volume trading, offering lower spreads, reduced commissions, and higher leverage.

On the other hand, a RAW account is ideal if you prefer variable spreads starting from 0.0 pips, though you’ll need to factor in commissions per lot.

Demo Accounts

I found it super easy to open a demo account with EagleFX.

All I had to do was enter my name and email—there was no need to set up a full live account right away.

Once I confirmed my email, I could jump into MetaTrader 4 (MT4) and start practicing with virtual funds, completely risk-free.

I liked that I could adjust the leverage settings and demo balance to suit my style.

Plus, the demo account doesn’t expire, so I’ve been able to keep refining my strategies for as long as I need before moving on to live trading.

Deposits & Withdrawals

EagleFX’s funding options are limited.

It only accepts Bitcoin payments and Instacoins, with minimum deposits of $10 and $50, respectively.

I bought Bitcoin through Instacoins using my debit card, which felt secure, but it added a few extra steps.

Once I had Bitcoin, I could either trade it directly or convert it to EUR, USD, or GBP before moving it into my MT4 account.

Deposits usually take 1 to 6 hours, which isn’t too bad, depending on blockchain traffic.

Withdrawals are faster—they are always through Bitcoin, and there are no fees involved. I usually get my funds within 30 minutes as long as they are over $10.

Still, I wish there were more payment methods like PayPal, Skrill, or Neteller. That would make things simpler.

Plus, supporting more currencies could help avoid some of the Bitcoin-related risks and fees.

Assets & Markets

Rating: 3.3

EagleFX offers significantly fewer assets than big names like BlackBull Markets, which has over 26,000 instruments.

Still, EagleFX has a decent range, depending on what you want to trade.

For forex, there are over 50 pairs, covering everything from major ones like EUR/USD to minor ones like EUR/CAD and even exotics like USD/MXN.

There are more than 70 stocks from top US and EU companies, including familiar names like Amazon and Deutsche Bank.

If you’re into indices, there are around 10 major global ones, like the Dow Jones and FTSE 100.

Commodities are limited, with just over six options, mainly focusing on gold, silver, and oil.

On the crypto side, there are more than 30 choices, including big players like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin. US dollar futures are also available, but that’s about it for that category.

I’d like to see EagleFX expand its stock offerings to include more global exchanges and diversify its commodities beyond just metals.

I also found the lack of passive investment options or copy trading features disappointing—something platforms like AvaTrade or eToro do well.

Fees & Costs

Rating: 3.8

One thing I appreciate about trading with EagleFX is how fast the trade execution is.

The broker uses an ECN/STP model, which means my trades go directly to liquidity providers without any dealing desk getting in the way.

This setup helps reduce slippage, which is a big deal when timing matters.

EagleFX offers competitive spreads starting from 0.1 pips on major forex pairs

The commission is competitive, too—$6 per lot for a round turn, which beats most other brokers we’ve tested.

Spreads fluctuate depending on market conditions, but I’ve seen floating spreads as low as 0.1 pips for major forex pairs.

On average, I usually get around 0.8 pips for EUR/USD and about 0.9 pips for EUR/GBP, which isn’t bad at all.

Even when you trade indices, the spreads are decent—1.2 for the FTSE 100 and 1.1 for the Nasdaq, for example.

While swap fees do apply if you hold trades overnight, EagleFX doesn’t charge fees for deposits, withdrawals, or even inactivity.

The broker has set things up to manage costs, which is a plus.

Platforms & Tools

Rating: 2.5

With EagleFX, you’re limited to using MT4 since it doesn’t offer a proprietary platform, which can be overwhelming if you’re new to trading and looking for something more straightforward.

MT4 is a solid choice if you’re into technical analysis or automated trading with Expert Advisors (EAs)—it’s popular for a reason.

But I’ll be honest: the interface feels outdated compared to more modern platforms like TradingView and cTrader.

Screenshot showing EagleFX trading platform

EagleFX offers the popular MT4 trading platform for desktops, web browsers and mobile devices

MT4 does support different order types and offers fast execution, which is crucial for specific trading strategies.

However, it lacks some of the advanced features or broader asset selection of MT5.

That can make it a bit tricky to navigate for beginners. Plus, it lacks modern features like social trading, which you can get on platforms like TradingView.

Brokers like IC Markets give you more flexibility with platforms like MT4, MT5, cTrader, and TradingView, which cater to different trading styles.

But if you’re sticking with EagleFX, I’ve put together an EagleFX Platform Walkthrough to help you set up your charts and start placing trades.

Research

Rating: 0.5

EagleFX’s research tools are pretty basic, especially compared to brokers like Swissquote and Interactive Investor.

You have access to standard market data and MT4’s built-in charting tools, but that’s about it—there are no exclusive research features.

Adding an economic calendar or expert market analyses to help with trading decisions would be a huge improvement.

I’d love to see more interactive tools, like sentiment indicators or AI-based trading suggestions, to make it easier to gauge market trends.

Even licensing third-party tools like Autochartist or Trading Central could add real value, as does IC Markets and TopFX.

Expanding these research features would make a big difference, especially for beginners who rely on extra insights to develop their strategies.

Education

Rating: 0.5

EagleFX really falls short when it comes to educational content.

Unlike brokers like IG, which has its own Academy packed with courses, tutorials, and webinars, EagleFX offers little.

Its ‘Education’ section focuses more on affiliate recruitment than helping retail traders improve their skills.

Screenshot showing EagleFX's educational content

EagleFX’s education page offers little in the way of courses or tutorials for beginners

I think it would be a big step forward if EagleFX created some beginner-friendly guides or tutorials.

It would definitely make the platform more inviting for new traders looking to learn the ropes.

Customer Support

Rating: 4.0

One thing I appreciate about EagleFX is its 24/7 customer support—it’s been super reliable.

The live chat is the quickest way to get help. Every time I’ve used it, I’ve gotten almost instant responses from polite and knowledgeable reps.

When I didn’t feel like chatting, I submitted a support ticket through the website, and someone got back to me within a few hours, which was great.

If you prefer talking over the phone, you can request a callback, just like at InstaForex. I usually hear back within about four hours. Having a direct phone line for quicker calls would be nice.

The FAQ page is also pretty solid—it covers everything from account management to deposits, withdrawals, and trading details.

But I wish there were video tutorials like other brokers to help make learning the platform much more manageable.

Should You Trade With EagleFX?

Trading with EagleFX has been a mixed bag.

On the positive side, it has a low minimum deposit, high leverage, and 24/7 access to cryptocurrency trading, which I appreciate.

The MT4 platform is solid, with excellent technical tools that I’ve relied on.

However, there are a few downsides. Most significantly, EagleFX isn’t regulated, which concerns safety and protection.

There’s also a lack of educational resources and research tools, making it more challenging to make informed decisions.

There’s no proprietary platform or simplified version, which might make it harder for beginners to get comfortable.

If you value transparency and strong regulation, you might want to consider brokers that are more compliant with regulatory standards.
