Quick Verdict

Neither Exness nor FP Markets accepts traders from USA. Instead, we recommend FOREX.com, a top-rated alternative that impressed our team during testing and accepts traders from your location.

Exness is stronger for low-deposit forex trading, fast funding, research, and round-the-clock help. FP Markets offers more markets, more platform choice, and better learning material.

Both brokers support MT4 and MT5, raw-spread accounts, crypto payments, demo trading, and commission-free standard accounts. Neither is built for passive investing because neither pays interest on idle cash.

Exness suits traders who value simple banking and support. FP Markets is the broader choice for traders who want stock CFDs, cTrader, TradingView, social trading, and structured education.

Regulation & Trust

Exness FP Markets
Trust Rating 4.1 3.6

Exness has the stronger overall trust profile, helped by its 2008 launch, segregated client money, negative balance protection, and PCI DSS data-security standards. We checked the account protections and found that protection levels still depend heavily on the entity and country used.

FP Markets holds ASIC and CySEC licences, which are important safeguards, and CySEC clients receive negative balance protection. However, we found that the St. Vincent and the Grenadines entity does not provide this protection, so losses can exceed deposits in extreme conditions.

We also reviewed regulatory history and scam alerts for both brands. Exness no longer uses FCA or CySEC retail authorisation, while FP Markets has an older ASIC compliance action from 2014 and has been targeted by impersonation scams under both FP Markets and FP Trading names.

FP Markets changed its offshore entity name from FP Markets LLC to FP Trading LLC in 2026, without a major change to trading conditions. Exness is also subject to country-level restrictions and warnings, including a Philippines warning in 2026, so traders should confirm local eligibility before funding an account.

Accounts & Banking

Exness FP Markets
Accounts Rating 4.4 3.8

Exness provides the more flexible account and banking experience. We opened an Exness account using Google sign-in, confirmed email and phone details, uploaded identity and address documents, and received approval in under one day.

Exness offers Standard, Standard Cent, Pro, Raw Spread, and Zero accounts. The Standard and Cent accounts can begin from $10, while the Pro account requires $200; the Cent account was useful for small practice positions but only gave us forex and metals.

FP Markets has Standard, Raw, Islamic, PAMM, and MAM account choices, with a $100 minimum deposit in most instances. We adjusted leverage from its 1:500 maximum down to 1:1 and found the account setup simple, though it has fewer entry-level account formats than Exness.

We sent funds through Exness payment methods and saw card deposits arrive instantly, Skrill and Neteller take about 30 minutes, and Bitcoin or Tether take up to an hour. Its support for more than 40 base currencies can also cut conversion costs, although the Standard Cent account supports only six currencies.

At FP Markets, we used the same-method withdrawal process and received funds in one to two working days. It supports bank cards, wires, e-wallets, and BTC, ETH, LTC, and USDT, but has 10 account currencies and no PayPal.

Both brokers offer free deposits in most cases, while third-party charges can apply. Exness is more convenient for fast, small deposits and withdrawals, while FP Markets can reimburse bank transfer fees on deposits above $10,000.

Assets & Markets

Exness FP Markets
Assets Rating 4.0 3.9

FP Markets has the wider market range, especially for traders who want shares and commodities alongside forex. We compared platform symbol lists and found that MetaTrader access is much narrower, at about 130 symbols, while Iress opens access to more than 10,000 instruments for eligible global clients.

FP Markets covers more than 70 forex pairs, stock CFDs, indices, metals, energies, and major cryptocurrencies. Its commodity line-up expanded in 2026, and we also found SpaceX added quickly to its stock-CFD selection around its IPO.

Exness offers over 100 currency pairs, plus CFDs on crypto, commodities, indices, and stocks. This is a strong forex selection, but we found fewer individual shares and no ETFs, bonds, or options for building a broad portfolio.

Neither broker offers direct interest on uninvested cash or automated long-term investing. FP Markets is better for market breadth, while Exness is more focused on active forex and CFD traders.

Fees & Costs

Exness FP Markets
Costs Rating 4.0 3.8

Costs are closely balanced, as both brokers offer commission-free accounts and raw-pricing accounts with spreads from 0.0 pips. Exness reduced its spreads in 2024, improving its Raw Spread and Zero account pricing for active traders.

For a simple one-standard-lot GBP/USD illustration, Exness Raw Spread pricing from 0.0 pips plus $3.50 commission per lot per side produces a cost of about $7.00. On FP Markets Raw, we recorded a GBP/USD spread of 0.8 pips; at roughly $10 per pip, that is about $8 in spread cost, plus its $3-per-side commission, or about $14 round trip.

The exact total moves with live spreads and account entity. We also recorded FP Markets Standard GBP/USD around 1.9 pips, while its Raw gold spread was about 0.08 pips versus 0.18 pips on Standard.

Exness Standard spreads begin from 0.2 pips with no commission, while FP Markets Standard spreads begin from 1.0 pip. The many Exness account-price combinations can be hard to compare at first, particularly for new traders choosing between Raw Spread and Zero.

Neither broker charges an inactivity fee. Exness may pass on small e-wallet or crypto withdrawal costs, and FP Markets can deactivate an unused account after three months, although we could reactivate it without a charge.

Platforms & Tools

Exness FP Markets
Platforms Rating 3.9 4.0

The platform offering is very close, but FP Markets has more ways to trade. Both brokers provide MT4 and MT5, including one-click trading, chart tools, stop losses, take profits, automated trading, and mobile access.

FP Markets adds cTrader, TradingView, and Iress for Australian clients. We used cTrader’s clean order screen and TradingView charts, then found one limitation: FP Markets does not enable copy trading through cTrader, so MetaTrader Signal Start is needed for that approach.

FP Markets also added Social Trading, where Followers can copy Providers and use leaderboards and risk controls. Iress gives eligible Australian traders direct market access, while the Traders Toolbox adds sentiment tools to MetaTrader.

Exness offers its TradingView-powered Exness Terminal alongside MT4 and MT5. We built a watchlist, checked live account controls, and used the integrated charts; the layout was easier for beginners, but we could not use Renko charts and found some advanced functions missing.

We also checked automated-trading access. Exness offers free VPS hosting once the account meets the $2,000 balance requirement, or a $500 balance plus $1.5 million monthly trading volume; FP Markets also provides VPS access for supported account types.

Research

Exness FP Markets
Research Rating 4.3 3.5

Exness gives the stronger research package for traders who want quick calculations, market news, and technical signals. We used its trading calculator to change leverage, lot size, and account type, then checked how it recalculated pip value, margin, spread, and commission.

Exness includes FXStreet news, Trading Central signals, a currency converter, and an economic calendar. The calendar’s filters felt limited, and we had to leave Exness Terminal to access some research instead of finding it inside the trading screen.

FP Markets delivers useful daily reports, technical reports, weekly market insights, fundamental analysis, Reuters and Citibank news feeds, Trading Central, and Autochartist. We opened the Forex News area and found that updates were less frequent than the rest of the Traders Hub.

FP Markets has more in-house written material, while Exness has the more practical calculator and stronger all-round signal support. Both can help with trade ideas, but neither makes every research feature equally easy to reach from every platform.

Education

Exness FP Markets
Education Rating 3.3 3.5

FP Markets is the better choice for learning to trade. We worked through its tutorials, webinars, articles, podcasts, and YouTube lessons, which cover risk management, trading strategies, technical analysis, and market analysis in clear steps.

Its course area has only three video courses, so advanced learners will still want deeper material. Even so, the wider mix of videos, written guides, and webinars gives beginners a clearer path than Exness.

Exness provides useful Help Center articles, market insights, strategy pieces, and a demo account with $10,000 virtual funds. We used the Help Center to look up platform terms and found the explanations clear, but there were no structured courses, webinars, or beginner video lessons.

One usability issue is that inactive Exness demo accounts can be deleted. FP Markets’ demo is also not permanent without use, expiring after 30 days of inactivity, but it has no fixed overall time limit while kept active.

Customer Support

Exness FP Markets
Support Rating 4.5 3.7

Exness offers the stronger support service, particularly for traders who need help outside normal market hours. We contacted live chat about withdrawal fees and received an answer within minutes, then emailed a VPS question and received a detailed reply within a few hours.

Exness support runs 24/7 in 15 languages. It does not provide phone support or dedicated account managers, which can be a drawback when an issue is too complex for chat or email.

FP Markets offers live chat, phone, email, social media, and a useful FAQ, but operates 24/5. We contacted its chat service and usually reached an agent in under a minute, though some replies had small language errors despite resolving the question.

FP Markets is a good fit for traders who prefer calling support. Exness is more useful for global clients who may need fast help during weekends or outside local business hours.

Is Exness or FP Markets Better For Beginners?

FP Markets is better for beginners who need education alongside a demo account. Its $100 entry point is still low, its demo can stay open indefinitely with regular use, and its webinars, tutorials, articles, podcasts, and videos explain the basics more fully.

Exness is also appealing for first-time forex traders because of the $10 Standard Cent account, $10,000 demo balance, simple Exness Terminal, and 24/7 support. However, the lack of guided courses and the Cent account’s limited instrument list make the learning journey less complete.

Is Exness or FP Markets Better For Experienced Traders?

FP Markets is better for experienced traders who want platform depth and wider market access. It combines MT4, MT5, cTrader, TradingView, Iress DMA, Social Trading, Autochartist, Trading Central, VPS access, and ECN-style forex pricing.

Exness remains a strong advanced forex option with MT4, MT5, a TradingView-powered terminal, adjustable leverage up to 1:2000, raw accounts, and VPS eligibility. Its narrower asset range and fewer specialist platforms make it less flexible for multi-market professionals.

Is Exness or FP Markets Better For Short-term Traders?

Exness is the better fit for many short-term forex traders because of its low starting deposits, near-zero-spread account options, fast funding, high leverage availability, and no inactivity fee. Its Raw Spread account’s $3.50-per-lot starting commission can also be attractive for frequent trading.

FP Markets is a close alternative for scalpers and algo traders, particularly through cTrader, MT5, ECN pricing, and Iress DMA where available. Its Raw account supports spreads from 0.0 pips with a $3-per-side commission, but the GBP/USD spread we recorded at 0.8 pips increased the full trade cost in the example above.

Is Exness or FP Markets Better For Long-Term Traders?

FP Markets is better for long-term traders who want a larger share-CFD and commodity selection. Iress access can open more than 10,000 instruments, giving investors more ways to follow global equities, indices, and sector themes.

Neither broker is ideal for traditional buy-and-hold investing. They do not offer interest on idle cash, direct ETF investing, bonds, or automated investment plans, and their main focus remains leveraged CFD trading rather than owning a diversified share portfolio.

Is Exness or FP Markets Better For Trading On Mobile?

Exness is better for mobile trading. Its app experience combines a clean account area, quick funding controls, watchlists, and TradingView-powered charting, while MT4 and MT5 provide familiar mobile order tools.

FP Markets supports mobile use across MT4, MT5, cTrader, and TradingView, which gives advanced users plenty of choice. Exness is the smoother option for traders who want a more unified and beginner-friendly phone experience.

Why Pick Exness Over FP Markets?

Pick Exness for a $10 entry point, Standard Cent trading, more than 40 base currencies, rapid payment processing, 24/7 multilingual support, and stronger built-in research tools. It is especially useful for active forex traders who want flexible leverage, raw pricing, and a simple proprietary terminal.

Its weaknesses are thinner education, fewer long-term investment assets, and regulatory protection that changes by entity. Check which Exness entity will hold your account before depositing.

Why Pick FP Markets Over Exness?

Pick FP Markets for access to over 10,000 instruments, cTrader, TradingView, Iress, Autochartist, Social Trading, and a much fuller education centre. It is a stronger all-round choice for traders who use several platforms or want stock CFDs and expanded commodities alongside forex.

Its trade-offs include 24/5 rather than 24/7 support, slower withdrawals of one to two working days, and protection differences between regulated entities. The offshore entity also lacks negative balance protection, so account jurisdiction matters.
