PU Prime Account Types

PU Prime runs a wider account choice than the typical MetaTrader broker, which is both a strength and a source of confusion for first-timers. There are four core retail tiers plus cent and Islamic variants, with deposit minimums spread across a wide band.

Cent $20 1.3 pips None 50% 20% Beginners and EA testing on live conditions
Standard $50 1.3 pips None 50% 20% Casual and longer-term traders who want simple, all-in pricing
Prime $1,000 0.0 pips $3.50 per side ($7 round turn) 50% 20% Active day traders chasing tighter spreads
ECN $10,000 0.0 pips $1 per side ($2 round turn) 50% 20% High-volume scalpers and algo traders

The Standard, Prime, and Cent accounts are also available in Islamic (swap-free) versions for traders following Sharia principles. These strip out overnight swaps, though an administration fee can apply to positions held for extended periods. The ECN account doesn’t offer an Islamic option.

A few details worth knowing:

  • The Cent account displays your balance in US cents at a 1:100 ratio, so a $50 deposit shows as 5,000 USC. Lot sizes are 1,000 units rather than 100,000, letting you trade tiny live positions. It uses the same spreads and execution as Standard. Compare the top cent trading accounts.
  • Base currencies span USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, NZD, JPY, HKD, and SGD (nine in total).
  • Maximum leverage runs up to 1:1000 on offshore entities. ASIC retail clients are capped far lower (1:30 on major FX, scaling down for other assets).
  • A demo account is available across all platforms, which is the cleanest way to compare Cent, Standard, and Prime-style pricing before committing real money.
  • There’s no inactivity fee, but dormant accounts can be archived after 90 days of no activity.

Which Account Should You Pick?

Our recommendation: For high-turnover forex trading and scalping, Prime or ECN are the serious choices because raw spreads plus a known commission usually beat a wider all-in spread. The catch is the ECN entry point of $10,000, which prices out many active retail traders.

If you’re starting out or testing an Expert Advisor (EA), the $20 Cent account is the standout: real market psychology, minimal risk.

How To Open A PU Prime Account

Here’s the process to sign up for a PU Prime account, which we’ve been through ourselves:

  1. Your IP address will determine which regional site you’re on (i.e., use puprime.au if you’re an Australian client). Click Create Account.
  2. Enter your country of residence, name, email, and a password. You’ll also need to confirm you’re not a US resident.
  3. You’re then automatically logged in to the Client Portal. Complete the account verification.
  4. Pick your trading platform (MT4, MT5, or Copy Trading), account type, base currency, and leverage.
  5. Upload a government-issued ID and proof of address to clear KYC.
  6. Once verified, you can fund your account to begin trading.

Verification can be done by mobile, which we’ve found quick and easy during testing

You can hold several account types at once, so it’s common to run a Cent or demo account alongside a funded Standard or Prime account while you find your footing. We’ve done that ourselves at PU Prime.
