The Precision Trader: Traders who want low costs but prefer advanced charting tools, Depth of Market, and zero restrictions on stop-loss placement.

The only FxPro account that doesn’t support micro-lot trading is the ‘Edge Spread Betting’ account, which offers spread betting to clients in the UK and Ireland. Trades in this account aren’t denominated in standard forex lots – they start with a £0.10 stake.

How To Open An Account At FxPro

I’ve opened dozens of micro-lot trading accounts over the years, including at FxPro, and the process at FxPro follows the usual steps and takes around 5 minutes:

  1. Sign up: Choose from the Standard, Raw+, or cTrader account, and press to register.
  2. Complete the onboarding: You need to provide your name, email, date of birth, address, and provide information about your employment status, finances, and answer a basic questionnaire that tests your knowledge of how online trading works. You also need to choose an account currency for your FxPro wallet.
  3. Verify your ID: You can do this through your phone by scanning the QR code that FxPro shows on the screen. Alternatively, it can be completed in a web browser. You’ll need to take a selfie and a copy of a suitable document, such as a passport. Verification can be as quick as 30 minutes.

Once your account and identity has been verified, you’ll get a confirmation email, as I did below, with details to sign in to the platform, including a login number, password, and server. Then you can start trading from 0.01 lots on forex, metals, and other assets.

What Is A Micro Account?

A micro account is an account that is designed for beginners and those looking to trade very small position sizes. In forex, a micro lot normally represents 1,000 units of the base currency, compared to 100,000 for a standard lot.

Example: Instead of buying 1 standard lot of EUR/USD and controlling €100,000, a micro account would let me trade 1 micro lot and control just €1,000. If EUR/USD moves 1% against me, that’s roughly a €10 loss rather than €1,000 (before costs). In this way, micro accounts are useful for those learning to trade online with less capital exposure.

Some brokers also have other small-sized accounts, such as the cent account, which changes the account denomination to cents and is aimed at smaller hobby traders, but the exact contract size and account denomination can vary by broker.
